the name - dolls of color
I am using this term as a twist on POC (person of color) - since this is a very USA term, the spelling of color has no "u" such as in colour, as I am more used to the British spelling of it. The USA for me is the modern day colonial empire (well, the government/military is) and other first world countries including Australia are generally in alliance with it, it's important to acknowledge these facts when talking about a modern global world.

setting up a website
Have finally got the domain and webhost stuff done... erm last week... it's here, but there's nothing on it yet :D
http://www.dollsofcolor.org
Haven't yet come up with a specific goal of what to achieve with this project... ok, so I like dolls but I find the lack of diversity (all types) in mainstream available dolls to be quite annoying to say the least. Would also like to discuss subjects related to body image and stereotypes, urban myths about health and wellbeing. Target audience to be adults...
Apart from all that... when talking about toys, the topic of children will undoubtably come up. Some children throw tantrums if they don't get what they want but too many other children are just grateful if they are not beaten or have something to eat and drink.
As adults, I believe it is our responsibility to take care of all children regardless of our cultural or genetic (or lack of) connection to them. I don't know how to approach this subject yet... hopefully I can come up with something while I set up the website which, depending on how motivated I am after work, might take a while... let's hope it takes less than a month >_<
BTW a new blog will be set up on the website (with wordpress scripting), until *cough* I get around to completing that task, rants will be posted here.
And here's a picture of a fashion fever Barbie doll from a few years ago to give a tiny bit of colour to this post O_o
